Default Will it flash? That is the question

Hey guys, I currently have this card:

And I'm thinking of getting this exact card:

Would I have to flash the 8800GT to a 9800GT to run them in SLI?
If so, how would I go about doing it?

Also, a bad flash is easy to fix...right?

Thanks

Yes, you need 2 of the same cards to run in SLi. You can recover from a bad flash if you have 1) The card's original bios and 2) a PCI Graphics card.

Why would you need a PCI graphics card?

Whats the best utility to use for flashing? I plan to flash it on my P5Q which I can throw in a crappy card into the PCI-e x1 slot while flashing.

nvflash. It's DOS based, so you'll need a flash/floppy drive. The extra card isn't necessary (you can flash blindly), but it's easier to do when you can see what you're doing.

I'm not sure how 8800GT <-> 9800GT flashing works, but you don't have to use two of the same vendor's cards. Any 9800GT based bios should allow you SLI (assuming it works).
