Basically it said that most modular PSU's don't work as efficiently as non-modular PSU's because the plugs cause about as much resistance as two feet of wire. Maybe this is why most modular PSU's still have the motherboard and CPU power hard wired?
Also because in 99.9% of cases you need the cpu and mobo power cables so theres no point making them modular? For the resistance reason presumably, plus the more complicated manufacture of plugs rather than being directly connected.

But, I doub't there is notable resistance.

edit:
This article tests the resistance of some modular and non-modular power supplies. It seems to conclude that the length of the cable is the primary factor for resistance, compared to that the connectior is negligible

If I looked at the graphs correctly the non-modular PSU's came out on top.

11A load.

My Antec NeoHE 500 is a little over a year old now. With a GPU load my 12v drops as low as 11.20v. Sadly I am relying on software for those readings as I do not have proper testing equipment. I do know that my Antec NeoHE was my first modular PSU and will also be my last.

bah, the only reason why I am thinking Modular, is honestly.

I will never have a need for more than 2 x 4pin Molex, thats only assuming someday I give adamn a bout having 2 DVD Drives. which I currently do not.

No more than 2 Harddrives will ever actually be inside of my computer.

Unless I really saw a true benefit and worth while need for me to go with mroe. Maybe a fleet of cheap HDD's for soem bizzaar Raid Config? Otherwise, just 2.

And secondly I will mos tlikely never bother with running SLI. The only thing I could possibly see if a Single Beefy card, with a secon simple card for physx, but that is highly doubtful since I have yet to see any usefull Physx benefit and far from any games I care about.

reasoning for liking the GTX 285, the 512 Bit interface. My current card has more than 256 bit, and 640 MB memory, and because of this it runs my particular game better than faster newer cards sporting 256 bit interface. (this strictly relies on Massive Amounts of textures being loaded often and quickly) And i felt that jumping to 512 bit, and 1gb ram would be a really sweet upgrade for me and my Sig Rig.

Now I do feel I could easily be content if the price is right, with a GTX 260 or 275. As they are boh a considerable upgrade from my current GPU which is nearing 3 years of age.

So the 2 reason why I want a new PSU, was my current PSU woul dnto handle a GTX 285, and might not handle the 275, and it is quite old now, and I do not want to risk any issues.

And Modular again, because There is a million extra plugs and connectors that I am far from needing.

But I guess if I can get away with a GTX 275 or 260 on a Corsair CMPSU-650TX, instead of the 750, and instead of Modular, and have enough power to sparefor future GPU's, then I will most likely decide to go that route, but I have No idea where to Put all those rediculous cables!!

Is it ok to stuff extra cables behind the Motherboard Plate? Would that cause any Ground issues or electricle problems?

I am a total Noob in certain areas..

Yes, this is generally where people put the extra cabling.
As long as your not physically damaging any of the wires I don't see why you would have any issues.
