yikes, ok no i dont have standoff's installed. Though i believe it came with some, so i'll get them installed. Would the mobo shorting cause the video card, specifically at the two six-pin connectors to flare up?

Again for reference, i do not see any power switch on the back of my psu.

***edit,

yeah i totally missed doing the standoffs. I feel like an idiot right about now...

What does it mean to RMA a video card? I saw it on the manual, but i dont know what it is.

Those are EXTREMELY important. They keep the pins on the back of the MB from shorting on the case. Often it will only cause the computer to immediately shut off, but that is most likely your problem. Get those installed before you do ANYTHING else.

If you screwed your MB in tight without the standoffs, you may have bent some MB pins. That may or may not cause problems as well.

Your PSU has APFC, so there is no switch. Usually the older or lower quality PSU's have a switch.

It could, mostly not installing standoffs mean fried motherboard.

A Return Merchandise Authorization or Return Material Authorization (RMA) is a transaction whereby the recipient of a product arranges to return goods to the supplier to have the product repaired or replaced or in order to receive a refund or credit for another product from the same retailer or corporation. In practice, an RMA is only issued after a series of tests.

All I can say is

Install those standoffs and bench test your rig and report back.

Pics are always nice.

We can only hope that everything is alright, but i have never seen a graphics card shooting out flames to be a good sign.
