So here's the scoop guys. I wait 4 months to finally get all my stuff, get it all hooked up, and hit the power button. Nothing happens. I've got both EVGA GTX 275's seated and hooked up, getting no image on the monitor.
RTFM... read up on my mobo's manual, saw i had not properly seated the main power and ground switches. No problem, a quick rotation and it was good to go. I got to turn the PC on, and FIRE, as in, open flames shot out of my video card's two 6 pin ports. Visible flame damage and residue were all over the back of the card. It was a quick flare up that i extinguished by yanking the cord out of my PSU as quickly as i could. Luckily i didn't fry my whole system, as that would have been 2k well spent. But i may have fried that card. Fortunately i have two. I read through the manual again, and tried to reconnect the little 2 pin plug on the video card to the ground option on one of my mobo's usb hubs, and everything was in order. The whole rig read as grounded. Fired up once more after checking over the plugs, and it flared up again. So now i'm stuck without any knowledge of what to do next. I've only got one video card to sacrifice. My PSU, for the record, reads that it takes 100-240 volts, and i am running off a 220 volt outlet here in Iraq. The six-pin power connectors are still delivering power, even after the flare up. My ongoing problem with the cards is that on power-up, even before the flare up, the cards would not turn on at all. The fans werent spinning and i wasen't getting a signal. Ok, o' wise nvidia forum, please educate my stupid ass on how to fix this mess.

You are grounding out somewhere, did you install standoffs onto your mobo tray? Take the whole system out of the case, and take all the non-essentials out of the system. Use only 1 stick of ram, one GFX card, and your hdd.

and make sure the little red switch on the back of your psu is set to 220 if there is a switch

I'm not completely savvy on what every term is yet; what is a standoff?
The corsair psu i have does not have any movable switches that i can see, unless i'd have to take apart the psu to get at a switch on the inside?

This, if the psu is set to 115v while you are on 220, it wont work right. There should be a little red switch on the back of the psu.

Standoffs separate the motherboard from the motherboard tray. You screw the stand off into the tray, and place the mobo on top of the proper stand offs, then screw it in.

a standoff is a screw that goes into your mobo tray that your mobo then screws into. It keeps the mobo from making contact with the tray and shorting out.

Also, RMA the card. Try powering the rig up with the other card. Also, pics of the burn please :P

These are standoffs:
if you didn't install them, you are grounding your board out majorly. Take your whole system out of the case and put it on a cardboard box and try to boot again.
