Weird, my card has been folding for over 24hours without errors. Seems you might be right Protezione, for some reason the first couple of WUs on a fresh install of W7 are no good. It might just be the AS5 breaking in though, my temps are 3-4C lower now.

Well I'm not gonna complain. Time to see how much PPD I can pump out of this beast .

Bump.

I got my 8800GTX 768 XFX OCed With new AS5 and a little fan work for F@H and it idles at 42*c load is around 63*c

Is this with the stock heatsink and are you measuring temps with GPUZ? If so there's really a problem with card and/or my thermal paste applying techniques...

well i removed the shroud and added a tower fan to it.

to tell you what i'm not really sure anymore lol.

Yeah I have that too, the one on top is the right one. The second temp is supposed to be memory temperature.

I've been thinking of removing the shroud and adding a CPU fan to it for a while. I think I'll try it this weekend if it yields such good results. Thanks +rep

Edit: why did you underclock your card?

I did that with my 8800gts 640 which would artefact and crash before boot as well. Now, no artefacts, oc's from 575 to 675 still working to my knowledge. I was going to throw it away.
