You would have to put them next to each other unless you got a really long bridge. It will effect temps but its just something that comes with having SLI, you could get an aftermarket cooler or even an Antec Spotcool to aid with cooling

This . Only a single bridge is required for 2-way SLI, the other ones are for Tri-SLI as previous posts explained.

Do get the 512MB version though, because the 1GB would be a waste as it will lower itself to match the lower-end card. Same with clock speeds -- a higher-clocked card will underclock itself to match the lower card.

Best of luck. I also am going SLI on my GTS 250 pretty soon as well .

As for people having two bridges on a 2-way SLI configuration; it is possible and it will work, but I doubt it would give any benefit.

It does not matter which SLI connectors you use...

i would opt for the open slot method. Leaving a gap in the middle will help airflow. You should have a SLI bridge long enough for this if you have an Asus motherboard, as they normally ship the larger ones.

I have an EVGA mobo, but it does have the long SLI bridge meant for the gap in between. only thing is, the PSU and some watercooling tube is blocking it atm, i'll need to move the cooling all around and the psu should be fine where it is, it'll just be cramped... so do you think it'd be better to have the two cards right next to eachother, or one in the open and one right on top of the psu? the psu doesnt get that hot, but the gpu fan will just be sucking hot air off of it anyway..?

and yes, i pretty much plan to get another fan or two once i go SLI, just to keep the temps down.

I have a GTS 250, its really better than the 4850 in all honesty, overclocks really well to

I have a Crossfire bridge that came with my mobo but I need an SLI one, anyone wanna trade?

also the GTS 250 is suppose to give GTX 275 like performance in SLI, which is really good in my book

Look in the FOR SALE/TRADE section in the forums and see if anyone would want to take you up on that .

Also; in SLI the GTS 250 beats a single GTX 285 in most games.

See here: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/vid...ts250-sli.html

Definitely worth the whole read of the article. 2x GTS 250s in SLI will rise just above a single GTX 285.
