i am trying to hook my 42 inch tv up to my computer through s-video and it wont go to the right resolution and it not in color please help

S-Video doesn't support resolution over 640x480 or 800x600 I believe, maybe a little higher, not entirely sure. But I do know that you will NOT get 1080p out of it.

1024x768 is the max. I used s-video for one of my lower res tv's when using it to watch regular DvD's back in the day. Yeah nothing over 1024x768 for s-video. It's labeled as a hi-def input for some reason, I don't know why because the quality is nearly as bad as analog (Yellow, white ,red cord). Look for a VGA input on the tv or if it doesn't have one you may have to get a VGA/DVI-HDMI converter.
