Thanks for the replies guys. Yea it looks like waiting for the nVidia DX11 cards is the right idea. And an X58 board and i7 chip looks like a good option too. I do alot of computer work other than gaming so any CPU and ram performance improvements are nice.

I tested the new nVidia 3D vision glasses at a local computer store and I was totally blown away. Im a huge fan of 3D cinema (especially at IMAX) and this was an entirely new dimension of gaming. I knew straight away I needed to have them . Unbelievably awesome. Getting them first and seeing if I need the upgrade seems like a reasonable idea. I know Im gonna need to drop graphics settings to play at a reasonable frame rate though but I guess the payoff is worth it

The 295 is about 5% faster on average in gaming vs SLI260's ... it's Vantage score is about the only place you see as much as a 10% gain.

Thus, SLI 260's is *much* better bang for buck vs. a 295, esp. if all you have to do is add another 260 to the one you already have, and don't have to upgrade your board or case or psu or anything else to go along with it (keep in mind that the 260's will require more power connectors and more power in general than a 295).

I got a 2nd GTX 260 for $150 used from Kijiji. Try to find a used one online and it's an awesome upgrade for relatively little $$$.
