I actually just did and I literally saw no FPS change. No temp change either. This is why it's a hard decision.

I know that higher shader clocks on those cards seem to help folding better than higher core clocks.

EDIT: Actually, now that I looked closer, with option 2 I actually got a 6 FPS bump in my minimum FPS on Crysis Warhead's "Frost" benchmark. (Was 24 now 30). Does that make sense to anyone (for a 25 MHz Core clock bump and a 25 MHz shader clock drop)?

I would but it's not my thing and I rarely keep my computer on because I work and travel 10 hours a day. The little time that I do have for myself I spend on upgrading, overclocking, and gaming. But that's another story for another time.....

Option 2 is a higher overclock.
774/728 > 1566/1548 1.0632 > 1.0116 6.3% OC vs 1% OC

First option is 750 core but 1575 shader, second option is 775 core but 1550 shader. The difference between the two is either a 25 MHz raise to the core or a 25 MHz raise to the shader, but where one raises, the other drops. So the debate here is which one is more important for gaming performance.

So between one strap, and another, although there are many "ticks" betwixt them, the card will only run at the given strap frequency.
