Default single PCB vs double PCB 295 related

hey guys i just want to ask something here

1stly i know iam feeling a bit noob but what is the full form of RMA coz i just RMA my card

i know its used to change the bad graphics cards or cimputer ites but i still dojnt know the exact full form of it

also after i RMA my card they have given me a gtx 295 single PCB (the ine which has fan in between)

they are saying i should keep it for the time being and later around 15th nov they will change the card with a new one(dont know maybe this card is some1's used then i guess)

what should i do shld i use the single PCB and sell it or shoudl i use for time being and get a new one and sell that

do tell me what should i do

RMA stands for Return Merchandise Authorization.
Basically yeah, your definition's correct.
I think the single PCB GTX295 is cooler running, smaller and quieter than the old one.
Definitely wait for the new one; but inquire if teh new one actually is the single-PCB one. If it isn't keep your single-PCB as long as you don't see any problems with it. If it is, go for it.

I'm a little confused as to what you're asking.

Did you try to RMA your card to Palit?

If so, are you saying they provided you with another card for while you wait? If so, that's awesome.

Also, the single PCB 295 is the more desirable one. It's the more recent revision, as opposed to the double PCB, "sandwiched" version.

Single PCB > Dual PCB if that's the question.

As above, I don't quite understand what the question is, could you please be more direct?

yah sure ill direct

what i mean is in terms of performance do i take hit if i go for single PCB?

i mean is the performance less for gtx 295 in single PCB and double PCB is faster or gives faster and better frames?

also i had RMA the card like 3 weeks ago and in INDIA not many peeps spend so much on card

the dealer has told me the card was fine but i showed my retailer the card heats upto 105 when playing for like 10 min even less time it heats up

so he promised me for a new card but dealer told my retailer that due to low stock they dont have a new one

the company actually send this single PCB but my retailer told it didnt have HDMI so he doesnt want to give it

i still told him to confirm wether its single or double pcb

today i called and told that if its a problem give me my money back and all so he called the distributor and confirmed 2 things

1 that the company has send a single PCB one for me instead of my 295 (but my retailer thinks its old but i dont know how it could be so)

so distributor told my retailer that u take the single PCB pne for like 15th november coz on that day they will get new card from comapany

he told that he will change the card from his own stock and take the single PCB one

now iam not sure wether he will give a new PCB or double also i dont wanna ask coz my card was fine still i got a single PCB and then they will give me a new

so what do u suggest

this is the whole story

if u still dont get do ask and ill explain again for sure

EDIT: and yah i of course did with PALiT as i have a palit card so i can only RMA with palit lols

Alright. I think I've got it.

You had a Sandwich PCB 295. It was getting to hot so decided to RMA it. Because the retailer that you had purchased it from did not have any more 295's in stock, they ordered more. They received a single PCB to hold you over until your card comes back. Is that correct?

Well the single PCB should perform the same or slightly better. It will also run cooler and it is smaller. If, when all is said and done, you can come out of this RMA process with a single PCB 295, you'll be in good shape.

Are you interested in upgrading to GT300 or The 5000 series? If you are interested, take the new sandwich and sell it. If you just want the best card between the two, keep the used single PCB card.

I'd be surprised if they send you a sandwich card though. I'm pretty sure Nvidia no longer makes them.
