Just another quick question, i am using this card with a new motherboard (gigabyte ep45-ud3l) that i bout about month ago now, could the board be affecting the card in away, or could it be the board itself?

Lol!!! One guy here said "Is this for Buhdist cards..? They get a warranty in the next life too..?"

Watch this video too when you get a chance. Helps keep temps down. At first it's a bit confusing, but that's how we all learn.

Fully test the card before going into the board and other possibilities...process of elimination. Do you or a friend have another card you could try in your rig?

Edit:

Thats the thing, im the only real "computer geek", non of my friends are into pc gaming so im gonna have to go with what i have to test this. If i have to i have my old motherboard i could swap out if worst comes to worst.

Raise your fan speed to 70-80% for now and run FurMark. Use "Stability Test." If it freezes, artifacts (discolorations, dots, squares) or gets screen tearing (streaks of white, black or gray) it's more than likely your card.

I just ran FurMark for 2 hours with no problems, but then i rand COD5 to test again and still i got color deformation. I guess i will have to try swapping the motherboard to see if its the card or not.

I have discovered a new "symptom" if you will, i was playing crysis and everything works fine except sometimes i see horizontal lines across the middle of the screen when moving, i believe this is called horizontal tearing? Is there a way to fix this or is it anohter sign of my apparently dying 9800gt?
