So in my HTPC I set up an nVidia ION setup. It ran great on my 1080p 37" Sammy TV but now I moved the PC and needed to use an extension cable and now I can't display anything over 1600x1200, which I shouldn't even be able to display.
Is it that the 9400 GPU is overpowered by the length of cable? I reinstalled all drivers to no avail. Help would be nice.

Windows gives you tons of random display resolutions before you have drivers installed. I'd assume you just need to run driver sweeper and reinstall them.

Alright then, I guess I didn't get rid of all remaining drivers. Thanks man, I'll try it out and let you know if it works!

Well that didn't do it, but I don't think it is ION's fault. My GTX 295 can't get it to work either, so it must be the TV.
Update: So I am wondering if possibly it is driver related? I can't understand why it would be, but it just might be that, so maybe I should roll back the drivers on the ION to get it to work again. I am first trying the beta drivers out to see if they clear up the problem. Update Again: New drivers did nothing. Apparently EDID control on all new nVidia and ATI drivers are to a new Win7 standard that doesn't interpret EDIDs well, so I will probably have to roll back the driver. Good thing that I run RC on that computer since retail versions aren't compatible with the old standard.
