Default 8800 Ultra overclocking

Right, I've got the evga 8800 ultra superclocked. I'm wondering if its bottlenecking my cpu. Should I overclock it or upgrade? I know absolutely nothing about gpu overclocking. Do you need to flash its bios or what? Also are these Ultras still worth anything? This cost around 600 euro when I got it in 2007.

Whats my best option!

Don't sell that Ultra, it's a Collector's Item.

It's probably not bottle necking your CPU much if at all.

GTX 260 is not a huge leap. If you're going to upgrade, the 5xxx generation or the 300 series is probably where you'll really notice a difference. I'd wait until the Fermi is released and we'll see how that is..

QFT. I'll never be able to sell mine for what it's worth to me.

I had the chance to get one of those, but decided it wasn't worth the extra price. Now I think I might be regretting that, just since apparently, it's a collector's item.

I seriously doubt there is any kind of (noticeable) bottleneck with your CPU and GPU.

The only reason I can see to upgrade is if you're not experiencing the performance (mainly FPS and resolution/detail) you desire in games.

You can overclock using eVGA Precision Tool. I use it, it's awesome.

It's not a collector's item in that it is worth more than it cost when we bought it... It's rare, it was the most powerful card available for quite a long time, and it's still a viable card for high end gaming rigs.

Yes, I said high. 8800 Ultra is still a more powerful card than what's in the average gaming rig. (Check Steam stats)

Sooooo, I really dont care for collectors items! I've pretty much upgraded everything in my pc and feel I should change my graphics card or at least overclock it to improve performance. If I sold it would I get enough for a straight trade for a gtx275 or 4890 or something similar?

About evga precision, that doesn't make the overclock permanent though just loads the settings when windows starts. What's needed to properly overclock a graphics card?
