thanks for all the feedback and good lucks. i just registered the replacement card and left a message. hopefully they send me a non defective card.

also i did comparisons of the 4850 vs 9500 and it seems the 9500 is producing artifacts/deformed images.

I got 4 bad monitors from Samsung, and 3 bad 8800GTXs from eVGA in a row about 2 years ago.

In my experience getting a bad RMA isn't rare. They are used, and refurbished parts afterall.

More population = more demand = less supply = less quality control
