Default PNY 9800GT No 6 Pin Power?

Looking on newegg for a video card for my friend and i see this 9800gt by PNY and i'm looking at it and see it doesn't have the 6 pin power adapter? Or maybe i'm missing something.

It has 20 MIR so it was appealing.

Opps, forgot link

Here you go http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814133279

If it is the green edition than yes, it has no power connector. It is downclocked a bit, so it is not quite as fast as a full-fledged 9800GT.

correct, I believe zotac has a version that doesn't have a supplemental power conntecor either, great for little micro builds or physx without needing a PSU upgrade

What could would you recommend for 100 or less. That's what is in his bank account right now and his GPU just crapped out. i had a 7000 radeon PCI i threw in there so he could at least boot.

To answer most of your questions: (1) a fridge cannot cool a PC (2) 64-bit OS for over 3.4GB (3) If a PCIe card fits, it should work (4) Resolution, not screen size (5) If you have a question, it is not news (6) Report, not respond to Spam (7) Single-Rail/Non-Modular PSUs are not always better than Multi-Rail/Modular (8) Sequential does not matter as much as random for OS drives

I'd say go for a HD4830 or HD4850. I'm just not sure if that Earthwatts 380w is enough juice for them...

$10 over budget, but his PSU can run it.
