Check your BIOS settings and change it from first display onboard to PEG.

Have the card installed, boot thru on-board, if the mobo detects the card's presence, install drivers, reboot and let drivers finish installed and reboot a final time thru the card.

Nope, but the board is fine, tried a card in it a few weeks ago. But I did recently upgrade to W7 64BIT

Your Mobo needs to know which adapter to use first and it is defaulted to onboard. You have to tell it to display PEG FIRST!

huh! maybe you should try to use the other VGA port on the card to the monitor. It is a long shot but I have experienced that problem before with a 260. Or maybe reseat the card and make sure it is getting adequate power.
Also did you uninstall the onboard drivers before you installed the new card?

This sounds like it might be an onboard issue. Don't just change your settings to PEG. You need to disable completely your onboard to start (don't worry about hybrid SLI or anything). If this doesn't work, try unplugging all devices that aren't used at boot (DVDrom, spare HD, any lights, etc.). This might also randomly/possibly be a power supply issue.
