Default Co-Op Cooler

So I have been using my single pcb GTX-295 for about a month now and I can't get over how much I like the cooler. I was wondering how many other people liked the cooler design, and if maybe anyone wants to see if nVidia uses this design for the GTX 300 series.

For one I can say that it is way quieter than the impeller type fans on reference boards.

Could you take a quick picture? Or do you have one? I know I could just google it, but I want to see it in the wild.

I like it enough to have bought it and then sold my dualie at a loss (resulting in this card costing me about $640 net). I did this primarily because the cooler is so much quieter, and runs so much cooler, than the dualie. It is indeed a very good cooler design. Sure, it dumps some hot air into the case, but ... so did the dualie, out the side vents. It about evens out I think in terms of heat in the case overall ... but this card runs like 8-10C cooler, and it's soooo much quieter, esp. at idle.

When I'm benchmarking my max overclock on the card is 704/1536/1188 but if I crank up the fan to 100 I stay under 60 degrees Celsius. I love this card but I wish I could change the voltage without voiding the warranty

Supposedly, you wouldn't even necessarily get anything from changing the voltage on air.
The shaders would get hotter, holding back the OC.

I love the idea of a real fan as compared to the impeller style blowers that are on the reference designs. I was hoping that nVidia would incorporate this cooler style into the GTX 300 series, or maybe the nVidia partners, cough EVGA cough, could work up a cooler like this.

Well... that fan still acts an impeller... it's just blow air two different ways now since there are two cores.

You want the metal on top of the core and a fan blowing across it.

This Co-Op design would perform poorly on a single core GPU.

Even if the fan was placed to one side? I'm saying more or less I like the fan more than the overall design I guess. Sapphire uses this with their Vapor-X designs and they are superior to the reference coolers so I'm not so sure that your assumption is correct that it would perform poorly.
