I am purchasing a re certified EVGA 9800GTX+ from someone on here, and it will have 20 days left when I get it, and I was wondering if its possible to purchase an extended warranty, or possible to use someone else's warranty code. Thanks

I don't think you can, but why are you buying a 9800GTX+? It is almost exactly the same as your 4850. You are not really going to notice a performance increase.

The only way to get an extended warranty would be to purchase it from the store where the card came from at the time of purchase, other than that no I don't think you can buy an extended warranty from a manufacturer.
Wouldn't somebody else's warranty code be tied to their card via serial numbers? Also, FBD is a schweeet album. I remember watching the Pantera Home Movies.

110% agreed, you can get new bnib 4850s for ~$100 or less(MIR)
However, it might be for a folding farm or something... IIRC there are some companies that basically sell a warranty for ANYTHING, but I doubt it'd be worth it.

I'm actually trading them, and I want to try out Nvidia guys. Sorry :/ I haven't traded for the EVGA one yet, and I am looking at someone who is offering a BFG 9800GTX+ W/ a Lifetime warranty.

Oh that makes a little more sense. Technically speaking the only way you're going to get a warranty for a second-hand card is with XFX, I believe.
