Default Do you think nVidia will enter the x86 race?

As many of you may know, nVidia has been rumored to have been hiring former x86 engineers over the past couple years. Do you think nVidia will enter the CPU race and/or do you think it would be a good idea for them to?

Let's here your thoughts OCN.

I know I'm interested.

No, Nvidia as far as i know don't plan on entering the CPU race

what they plan on doing is using there GPUs to build computers, and to get them to do the CPU work, only allot faster

Wouldn't be good for them. They should stick to making GPUs.

What if they were to make a Cuda based OS?

I highly, highly doubt it -- although if they did I wouldn't be surprised either. They know better; it'd be a flop. It's like the Independents getting into Presidential Office, sure there's potential but it'll never happen.

they declined the License to make chipsets for i7s. A lot of the x86 patents are expiring. With patent limitations coming to an end for x86 they wouldn't have to purchase it from anyone for make their own CPUs.
