Default 9800GT SLI w/o bridge

Hey,

I got a 9800GT and i would like to buy another one and sli them.

This is the one i have http://www.palit.biz/main/vgapro.php?id=1211 and i was wondering if performance will be lower w/o a bridge connection (since it doesnt have the slot to connect a bridge to it).

It was my understanding that you need the bridge to enable SLI.

you must have an SLI bridge to run SLI. If the card doesn't have the fingers, it isn't possible.

if you really wanna sli you need two cards that support the capability and perferably the same one. but i think if anything you might as well just do an upgrade to a gtx or something instead of trying to sli. and can you plz fill out your rig info? itll kinda help us to help you

I have heard different stories, some saying you cannot SLI at all without it, and some saying you will get far less performance without it. So i wouldn't take that chance.

And why no Sli connector?? It may be a shrunken pcb but still could have fit it me thinks,,

Thats what i thought, that u cant sli w/o a bridge, but look at their website, it says its sli ready and even on the box it came in it says it, so where an i suppose to connect the bridge? Im sure they wouldnt lie like that about it supporting sli when it actually didnt.

I wouldn't take much notice of the packing :P

My old palit 275 came in a GTS250 box with 275 stickers covering most of it...

But yeah, it's weird.. As far as I can see only the gainward/palit low power 9800's don't have the SLI conector, I tried googling for more info but I can't find anything :l

haha, so true. My Palit 7600GS Sonic came in a regular box... champ that thing; 50% OC on core and mem on top of the factory OC

Well the box this came in is the right box no doubt and the card is identical to the 1 on the website i gave in the 1st post, so if you look you wont see any sli connector on it where its suppose to be.

I googled a bit, and some people said its possible to sli w/o a bridge, but i wanna be sure so i dont end up with 2x cards and not being able to sli them.
