Default Old pc

i have an AMD duron 850 mhz 128 MB of ram and nvidia riva tnt 2 pro and i installed windows xp on it and after windows loads i get a black screen and after that a restart why does it work only in safe mode?is the video card ca major problem for xp?i can't find drivers for this video card!

Windows will have stock drivers for the 7800, so that isn't the problem. This usually happens when SATA is enabled in the BIOS without SATA drivers being installed within Windows. That said, it should have bluescreened at install if you haven't changed around anything in the BIOS since install.

I believe these are the last drivers that work on a TNT:

Hopefully you can install them in safe mode and restart ... although really you *should* still see video in XP because the windows vga drivers should work fine with that card. Did you replace a different card and not remove the drivers first?

Why would his motheboard even have sata?

Ah, that was a leftover from when I garbled my post entirely and half way through posting looked at his specs in his sig. I removed the bit where I ramble about where to find 7 drivers, but apparently forgot to remove the bit about SATA.
