If you find a good deal you should be able to get a 5770 for around $150. It will destroy your old 8600gt

An 8800GS would blow it away, but for that price range try to go for an HD5770, HD4870, GTX260, or an HD4890 if you can find one that cheap. Usually they are if you find them used.

keep an eye on Newegg for Open Box 5770s (or here on the forums). If you're patient and wait for Fermi's release, you might be able to score something used that's even nicer for less coin.
