I must admit, I was thinking something rather different.

You seem to be going the route of heavy and flashy, I was thinking far more simple, power-user based which is light.

Similarly, nvidia drivers are non-free and cannot be redistributed to my knowledge, unless you include 3rd party open source drivers.

We need to keep everything "legal."

Yeah, I agree with lattyware, I was thinking of a simple light-weight Livecd.

One of the reason your having size issues mook is that you have a GTK based DE and then some apps that require QT libraries, (Amarok, K3B). So you have both GTK2 and QT3 libraries installed, which is adding to the overall size, but if your just having fun with it for now then now worries. Fun is needed!

So is a script going to be needed to get prime and the nvidia drivers?
I'm not sure how to install the nvidia driver when not in runlevel 3. But for a liveCD is the nvidia driver really needed?

i'm including the envy app that will automatically install the video drivers.

i'm also including a quick read file that will show you how to install, configure video drivers, compiz, awn, etc..

I'm going to play around with my build later tonight.

Some programs for Customizing Ubuntu:
http://reconstructor.aperantis.com/
http://uck.sourceforge.net/

Edit: What program is this: (bottom-left): http://www.xfce-look.org/CONTENT/con...e1/74457-1.jpg
And this? (top-bar)
http://www.xfce-look.org/CONTENT/con...e1/74294-1.jpg

Conky and GKrellm aren't perfect with my build yet (no proper autostart, Conky appears in a window, etc,. So I'm looking for possible alternatives)
