One of the reason your having size issues mook is that you have a GTK based DE and then some apps that require QT libraries, (Amarok, K3B). So you have both GTK2 and QT3 libraries installed, which is adding to the overall size, but if your just having fun with it for now then now worries. Fun is needed!

So is a script going to be needed to get prime and the nvidia drivers?
I'm not sure how to install the nvidia driver when not in runlevel 3. But for a liveCD is the nvidia driver really needed?

I guess a script would be cool. I could always ask about prime, Could somebody else read the readme and see if they can find what license it is under because it isn't all that clear, Link is a few posts up

Oh and for a live cd i don't think we need to bother with propriety Nvidia/Ati drivers, I'm not going to include them in my version. I haven't actually started yet because my dumb gf managed to walk backward down 3 stairs and break a toe! She may even need an operation, What a total noob she is!

I read it earlier today. Basically it's copyrighted. No mention of GPL, etc,. But I'm sure there are open source alternative stress tests. cpuburn is one.

Stresscpu is another, Just how effective it is compared to prime is debateable though, Although it will run 4 threads automatically

Hey, AMD+nVidia and I (mostly me) were tossing around the idea of creating a over clock distro. However, he found out about this project and I'd like to help. Actually, I'd need to learn how first.

So to make a long post short, I was wondering if their is a tutorial or something you can redirect me to that I can read through and gather a basic understanding of programming in whatever language Linux is written in.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Linux is mostly in C.
However, to write programs for it you can use any language that it supports (C/C++, java, C#(thanks to mono), perl, ruby, python, ..... just to name a few/most common)

mines done. but the live cd isn't working so well. you have to log in as root to run the live cd. but you can install it. you get a better feel for it when it's installed anyhow.

i'll post the iso tomorrow.

oh, and some changes i made today...
ditched kde, stuck with gnome
ditched metacity and compiz, went with openbox for windows management. can't get the full openbox de to work right.
