By no special libraries, would that include GUI-specific kind of stuff? For example, OSX and carbon, Linux/UNIX and X, windows and explorer?

Because I noticed text-based programs work in virtually all OSs as long as they're recompiled.

I'm not versed in the ways of the linux, but I have a bit of experience with them, not so much on customizing them though.

I'll volunteer my rig as a dedicated seeder though.

My latest build has issues with sensors. I really shouldn't emulate Linux for this reason. I probably won't have another build for awhile. I'm trying to get something stable, and that has all the images, icons, shortcuts and software all set up for easy use.

Oh, I really just have a basic knowledge of C++ and apparently I don't know enough to understand what I'm doing, but thanks for the information and I'll start tinkering around a bit.

Because I like being different? I'm sorry for making it really small, that was a problem with firefox, but I've always like courier new. It seems more like a government classified type of font.

As a language todo anything in, I'm a Python man. Python is godlike.

Anywho, I just switched to an Arch/XFCE setup on my main rig (was going to go Arch/wmII, but no dual head compatibility :/ - wmII is lovely, apart from that.) - and I must say, XFCE is even more polised thanI remember it being. It's a very nice, and light, window manager - with brilliant dual monitor support to boot.

Arch/XFCE would be a good start, I think. Again, I think we should be looking at a light base, but with a huge numer of tools.

Also, I think we should look into giving the ability to have a script that does most of what we want, that can look for a USB stick, to grab configurations and stuff. That would make for a nice customisable live-CD.

I agree, I've put Xubuntu onto my folding rig (just n case the lighter GUI helps a little :P) and it feels so much snappier than gnome.

IMHO, a distro like Arch Linux is the way to go. The Pacman system rules and the entire distro is already compiled for i686 architectures, good for folders, or if you prefer to have a spin for 64bit, thats available too (I think..).

Someone gimme a PM if you need any help with anything (except artwork, I suck at artwork)
