A LIVE CD is no easy feat when you take into consideration hardware, ie: video, wireless, etc. and so on.. It is now easy feat. Just look at the other
Live CD's elsewhere, It is no easy feat when you have to take into consideration , video, wireless, and a the other BS to get a working system....... You CAN NOT EXPECT SOME POOR SOUL TO MAKE AN OCN LIVE CD without super backup support!!!

I gotta get some sleep but lets get some ideas together and see if we can between us actually get the job done hell if we don't i'm sure we will pick up alot of info along the way most likely never to try making a distro again but meh

I think Hobo and Jester have both gone to BPC... Plenty of members have usernames over there (myself included) but some left and didn't come back. They were the best at Linux help, too. Hobo taught me everything I know (however limited it may be) and Jester was a lot of help, too. Jester's desktops were always awesome, too.

OK, Jester definitely left. Hobo hasn't been really active for a while. He posted a week ago, but he probably has important RL things to take care of.

I'm glad there is some interest in this.

By the user Hobo, do you mean dangerousHobo, the creator of PerlMon? (We should probably include that tool in the distribution?)

Another distribution to look at is SLAX. It uses modules, so it would be relatively easy to add slackware packages to SLAX, change the wallpaper and themes. (SLAX also uses linux live scripts) for Slackware, similar to the Larch scripts for Arch.)

Default OCN dISTRO!!!

As MENTIONED ABOVE WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE IN AN OCN distro? Say based on Gentoo??? Or Slack?? or even something easy like *buntu? What would the distro need? GKrellm, lmsensors. PErlMon, Lisht and easy like Flux or Xfce?

Clue me I'm retired and have nothing but time!!!!

What would be Bad Ass????

Who here has the ability to do stuff like this? I certainly don't. I wouldn't even be good for making icons!

Also, since OCN is big into F@H, it would be nice to have a distro set up to fold right out of the box. Just my two cents

Was that meant as sarcasm or what?

Slax would be a good idea but the more i think about this the the more i think it is going to be hard? We are going to need to write lots of little gui's for stuff because Windows users really aren't going to want to edit text files.

How many of us can code? I know i can't

By BPC i guess you mean http://www.**************/forum/ . What did i miss? Why have loads of our users jumped ship and go there permanently?

Lol BPC'S url gets filtered? Now i really need to know what i missed
I'm pretty sure we are at liberty to talk about it now, since it's so far in the past. If a mod sees this and thinks it shouldn't be on here, feel free to take it off.

Certain members, the kind of members with 5 flames and 5,000+ posts, many of whom haven't been here for over a year now, had a disagreement with the way that the higher ups of this site did things. They thought the rep system was broken, that Admin didn't show up often enough for them, and they thought some members were getting special treatment. So, they started their own forum, bashing ours in threads, and spammed the crap out of ours. It was a truly ugly fiasco, but it's in the past now, and we can all move on with this forum by ourselves.
