A potential difficulty...
Like I said in the post above, I restarted the LiveCD and log in under root this time. (Last time I was under the ocnix user)
Tried the commands again and it worked like a charm... Can anyone think of any reasons why sudo didn't do the job?

 to ALL for the hard work &  I cought this thread from the OCNix Distro one! Great Timing 4 me as I am was looking into running an Xplite system on a new "toy"  VIA Nano NR10000EG 12CM x 12CM  I actually just finished getting XPro installed and trimmed down to run on a 1GB CF and using a GB USB for progs. I've just spent about an hour downloading VM and suse (following the *HowTo* by bdattilo) Now I think I'm inspired to try OCNix!  Jeez *scared*; I haven't done code since Pascal & COBOL Kudos
