Subscribed. I have nothing to contribute Linux wise, but I like the idea (especially F@H).

Also, a liveCD would be perfect too. I have already had trouble (noobness on my behalf) with installing Windows + Linux or getting rid of Linux to go back to Windows.
It could be a great time saver.

They thought the rep system was broken, that Admin didn't show up often enough for them, and they thought some members were getting special treatment. So, they started their own forum, bashing ours in threads, and spammed the crap out of ours. It was a truly ugly fiasco, but it's in the past now, and we can all move on with this forum by ourselves.
I remember something happening but when i asked a mod (can't remember which) they told me not to worry about it.

Hardinfois also a great little program similar to everest albeit with not quite as many features.

Right; if it's not, then I don't think it can be included.

We could have a program that downloads and installs, and sets it up though. Arch has a pkgbuild for it and there is probably a slax package. There used to be a program that would install the non smp version along with some monitoring programs but i can't remember it's name.

I think it was FInstallhttp://fahwiki.net/index.php/A_Complete_Guide_to_Using_FINSTALL_for_NEWbies

This page has lots of folding utilities, Some for Linux some not http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=52

Anything to be included in the distribution needs to be compatible with the GPL license.

I am more familiar with Debian, so I'm thinking of messing around with KNOPPIX, which should be relatively simple. The Linux Live Scripts are a tad complex for me.

I encourage others to try to get a live cd working. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Gentoo live cd is working.

Edit: biatchi, I noticed that with the Folding Forums link you provided, there are some distributions for folding. One of these is Overclockix, but the project is "now dormant."

Overclockix description (from distrowatch.com):
Quote:
This Knoppix-based distribution features a host of tools for network security, low-level hardware tweaking, burn-in applications like memtest, lucifer, cpuburn, and distributed computing clients - folding@home, seti@home, and prime-net. [...]
