Straight from the ISO, at 4x (slowest speed possible..)
Weird, everything seemed to work fine though.

Oops, are you running the arch or the ubuntu version?

The arch command is poweroff, but I can't remember what the ubuntu one is.

Use CD-RWs for Linux, I find they work quite well. You will be erasing them like crazy!
