Default Tripple Boot

I want to install OCNix but I want to know if I can triple boot it?

So far I have XP and Vista installed (Vista installed last)

EDIT:
Also - is OCNix..... like the Ubuntu or is it the standard Linux?

I had a triple boot at one point. I got on before class, it was fine, got back, no icons, so i rebooted. Then my HDD was completely empty. No idea what the hell happened. It was beta Vista though, so that might have had something to do with it.

But Linux will install its bootloader and you will be able to choose between all 3 (might have to manually configure it though).

Theres no "standard linux". Its all just a bunch of different distributions. The one biatchi is working on is based off Arch Linux. version2 was working on a ubuntu based version, and maybe something else.

The current OCNix is just a LiveCD, theres no installer.

For configuring a Windows OS as an item to boot from in GRUB, take a look at this page (assuming you have more than one HD):
http://fedorajim.googlepages.com/dua...pthesafeway...

It should provide enough information for you to recreate that, or something very similar. In my scenario though, I had to replace hd1 with hd2 as linux is on my third HD (hd2). I believe Windows HD is hd0, according to that page.

Also, I may be wrong, but you could probably edit your boot.ini in XP or Vista to boot from each other. XP might be the safer one to edit the boot.ini though, and it's the only I'll reccomend (as I've only tried boot.ini editing in XP). Doing that will make it so you will only need OCNix (linux) and Windows in your GRUB boot menu. After selecting windows, you should get the option to boot either XP or Vista in Windows'/Microsoft's own boot menu.

I have only tried Ubuntu and LinuxMint (a spinoff of Ubuntu) but both worked well for triple booting with XP and Vista. As long as you install Linux last you shouldn't have a problem.

Although this one is a good resource for explaining how to do Linux and XP dualbooting, I can not reccomend the method the author chooses. According to this page, leaving NTLDR on the MBR "allows you to continue to boot Windows with no issues. I've heard that Windows 2000/Windows XP or anti-virus software may complain if the MBR does not contain the Windows boot loader".

For anybody who is reading this post, the above applies if you are dual booting with ONE hard drive. See the link in my previous post in this thread for two (two drives means two MBRs, so GRUB on one, NTLDR on the other).
