Default OCNix64

Well I finally got round to getting it working and it's uploading as we speak

It's fairly basic at the moment but it all works including the installer although it doesn't like extended partitions.

Some things that are included:

Xfce4 desktop environment
Desktop shortcut to download/install/start folding courtesy of Hobo's script (Thank you)
Perlmon (Again thanks to Hobo)
Firefox3
Vlc
Gparted
Wicd (For configuring wired and wireless network connections)
Conky
Gkrellm
Mirage
Recorder
Fahmon
Qemu
Qemulator
Hardinfo
Lm_sensors

Cli apps:

Stress
Htop
Hdparm
Sdparm
Bonnie++
Hddtemp

Xorg is automatically configured at boot and hopefully the correct res and driver are loaded (works fine for me) then the user ocnix is logged in automatically.

Core temp and k8temp are loaded at boot so core temperature should be displayed in Conky.

There is a shortcut for the installer in the menu but that starts it without root privileges which means it might not work properly.

I personally just open a terminal and do
Code:
sudo larchin.py
DISCLAIMER:: The installer can screw things up if used incorrectly so use with caution because I will not take responsibility if something goes wrong. If in doubt just ask

Code:
root pass = ocn.net
Code:
ocnix pass = overclock
For the next release I am considering switching Xfce for Openbox (probably) to shed some weight because, Although Xfce is lightweight it does have quite a few Gnome dependecies

Any questions/complaints/suggestions welcome.

Things to do:

Iron out the inevitable bugs
Remove unwanted/uneeded things
Reduce file size
Add more programs
Make it better to look at.

If anyone feels up to it I could do with a new avy

But yes, overall, people need to look at this from the perspective of a business and not of an enthusiast. I look at many of these posts and say to my self, "And that type of thinking is exactly why you're not running the business..." lol

Fine I would imagine.

Arch ATI wiki

Arch Steam wiki

You will need Wine installed. I have included Yaourt because it rocks and saves alot of time installing things from Aur.

Code:
yaourt bin32-wine-suse
Should leave you with 1 result so press
Code:
1
and enter.

Then
Code:
y
to view the PKGBUILD

Then
Code:
ctrl+x
to continue and save if any changes are made

Then
Code:
y
Now it grabs any dependencies it needs and starts the build. If all goes well,

Code:
y
and enter the password for ocnix.

Because i'm nice I set up an alias for yaourt, Just type ya instead of yaourt

Code:
ya bin32-wine-suse
is exactly the same as above

I also added an alias for updating the system (via Yaourt), Just do,

Code:
syu
