Regarding Slackware: There is a liveCD version of Slackware available called SLAX (I believe it also sports an "install to hard drive" feature). Plus, there are the Linux Live scripts used by SLAX that should technically work with any distribution.

Arch linux seems to have something called Archie which could be utilized.

As for a Debian liveCD, in addition to KNOPPIX there's Morphix (mostly outdated!) and Ubuntu. I've experimented to a small extend with all three of these. I do think there is some potential particularly with basing off of [x]Ubuntu a lot of it's crap was removed. KNOPPIX has also been proven to be highly customizable and serves as the basis for many distributions (even DSL borrows from KNOPPIX).

Yea this thread needs to be ignored. It was made before decisions were really made.

But those are all valid points. You definetly need to get on IRC with us since you did originally make OCNix and we need all the help we can get.

So I thought I'd revive this thread instead of making another one to discuss the development of OCNix.

I submitted the kernels in .deb format, I since discovered that we making the distro based on arch (not a .deb distro), so I did some research and found programs to convert .deb(debian distro) to tar.gz(source/arch distro)

Well, I'm around. I updated the FAH script, and I can also update the LiveCD too if I can have access to the source. I use to run XFCE, so it's second nature to me.
