/me pumps life back into the dead thread

This is what I think we need for artwork:
  • Background Image
  • XFCE Images (like the programs button, etc)
  • Program Images
  • Login screen Image

We most likely need more, so throw out suggestions and such

I'll repost the logo from the first page that I'm using for the sourceforge website. I would think we could integrate it into the needed images.

xtascox, it would be nice if you attach some components we can work with like logos and symbols to the first post of this thread so people (me included) don't have to go searching through OCN for pics.

First post updated with an attachment and link to original OCN artwork. That's all I have in the artwork department.

Hi all,

I got a little bored so I spent 15 minutes knocking up this background, inspired off an old Intel Core 2 Duo wallpaper I saw a while back, it's in 1680x1050, I was gonna re-size it to fit in 4:3 but I decided against it as it's designed to leave room for icons on the left hand side of the wallpaper. It's attached as a ZIP because maximum width for a JPEG attachment is 1600 not 1680, included with it is the PSD file, modify to you're hearts content.

I'll knock up the next wallpaper for 4:3 screens and maybe do some web banners and stuff, any ideas or inspiration would be a help, animation and vectors aren't a problem as I'm pretty familiar with Illustrator and Flash.

I'll finally be getting SP3 in a few days then I can start using CS4, I really wanna test it to it's limits, so as I said, suggestions and inspirations?

Hi again,

Did another wallpaper, this one is a little more simplistic as per a suggestion from a friend of mine. Once again the PSD is in the ZIP with the JPEG so it should be AOK for anyone to edit it or what ever. Post here if you need something custom done like wallpapers, UI stuff or logos etc.

As promised this one is in 4:3 definition (1280x1024) but if you center it with a white background it will still go well for a 16:9 or 16:10 display.

Default Mind if I join in?

It was suggested that I might be interested in trying my hand at developing an Openbox theme for you. However, upon reviewing some of the logo ideas being brought up, I decided that before coming up with a theme, I would like to see a final (or at least semi final) logo design. Therefore, I'm submitting the one I just drew up for consideration :P Like it, hate it, I enjoyed making it and that's what's important. Tell me what you think!

It's nice, I know we're just supposed to be looking at the logo here but the background color isn't great although it does fit with the OCN's creative *Cough* palette of 7 shades of blue. A logo is nice but we also need a symbol and I'm stumped for ideas, I was thinking some sort of modification of or addition to the flame. Maybe an image of a semi-transparent CD inside of the flame?
Kudos on getting into OCNix for your first post, If you've got good art skills I'm sure there is a place for you on the team (don't quote me on that, it's not my decision to make). There isn't a lot of demand for art right now but help is always appreciated, any other skills you could add to the team, programming etc?

P.S. What font are you using for the text?

Before we get going:
-What resolutions you do you need the images at?
-What file format do you want them in?

I'll do the login images, I'm thinking we'll need one for 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10 each? Do you want the text boxes as part of the art or do you want just a background and a logo?
