Default Deal: Seagate SATA 400 HDD for $90 at Tiger

As the title says...no MIR for this. It's the one with perpendicular recording so it's one of the good ones.

This deal looks SCREAMING.

Down-sides:

8 MB cache compared to NewEgg's 400 Gbyte Seagate which has 16 MB. (How important is this, I wonder...)

NewEgg wants $109.00 for that one though.

TigerDirect has some scary "limited warranty" language. I wonder if that means you get less than what you would normally expect from the manufacturer. It says 60 months (5 years) but I wonder what that means.

Oops. Well that was stupid.

Here's my penance, a Samsung 400 Gbyte SATA with 16 MB cache for $5.00 less at NewEgg.

Couldn't find anything about the Samsung warranty though...

And it has a few bad reviews.

As far as the warranty goes, Tigerdirect is just saying that it's a manufacturer warranty rather than a Tigerdirect warranty. The Tigerdirect policy is 30 day exchange for defective product. After that, they defer to the Seagate warranty which is 60 months (5 years).
