Q: Do you have to prove your student status?
A: Originally you had to authenticate your school through some Microsoft Academic Alliance web portal. Afterwards you would be mailed the discount code. Guess that didn’t work out and they just posted on the website instead. As far as entering the code and checkout it’s the same as if you were entering the 40% off code. No verification is done on that end.
