That would pull 5,000+ PPD for folding. Plus the stock core clock is pretty good.

I would completely jump ship from saving up for a 4850 right now, but I think the 256MB of RAM really cripples the card.

I game at 1280x1024... is this worth it over the 512mb version?

I own this card except it is EVGA, purchased it on its release date.
At all resolutions under 1280 by 1024 the card is exactly equivalent to the 512 MB. I can run Crysis on High with this card at 1024 by 768 smoothly if I set my fan speed up to 100%
At 1280 by 1024 it almost always equivalent to the 512 and should only be slightly worse if worse at all.
However, if you intend on gaming over 1280 by 1024 give or take do not get this card as it will get steamrolled and the saving are pointless.

Here is a good review showing the differences between the 2 cards.

The Duke is right. To edit the title click "Edit" at the bottom of your post > click "Go Advanced" > edit your title to say "Deal: GIGABYTE 8800GT 256 MB for $70 after MIR at Newegg" > then when your finished click "Save Changes."
