Pretty much what I've resorted to, even though none of my posts have been deleted its getting to the point where I don't even check the deals forum.

I fail to see the logic in being so strict in the naming that it actually hurts members by preventing them from seeing deals. Just yesterday, I remember seeing a deal on a hard drive a few days back that I now need. Went through the forum trying to find it. I finally had to resort to digging through my history, found the link, clicked on it, and what do you know it was deleted.

So thanks I have a properly formatted forum, but a fraction of the deals. I love the naming conventions and follow them myself, but seriously if someone omits something (even if its important) I can clink the link they provided and find it out for myself. It's not that big of a deal and frankly trying to catch every single one is going to wear the mods out.

To add to this your not hurting the deal poster in anyway by deleting the deals they put up. They know about the deals. They put them up because they wished to share them with us. Deleting the post just means we don't get to see it. Last I checked there wasn't an award for whoever post the most deals.

Sounds more like a lose from where I'm standing. I usually don't go around looking for the best deals. I don't have a lot of time for that. So instead I come here. Most of the great deals I've found was from this section.

Awhile back you were warned for even mentioning of everything that could be related to pirating. Back then the site rules on posting wasn't so strict. Now you can come out and admit that you steal games and even say what games you are downloading. Just make sure you remember to post all the required information otherwise you will post will be deleted without warning.

You would think so, but there are TWO stickies on the topic already.

I'm not sure how you can say "without warning" since there are TWO stickies plus this thread on the subject.

Just curious....

I've been looking around to build a computer lately. I've been seeing a lot of open box deals on new egg. Obviously, all of these deals on all of these parts are below the prices listed anywhere else on the web...

So is there a rule against me being bored and deciding to just post10, 20, 50, or more threads to OCN, properly formatted, in the deal section all referencing new egg products? Sure, they're all from the same source and on the one hand, it's retarded because open box deals are cheap for a reason and it may not be such a great deal, but on the other hand, maybe it's exactly what someone is looking for....

So is it really all just about proper formatting or what?

Open box deal is still a deal. The whole point of online deal is to notify fellow members of good prices on items that aren't obvious or will not be available for long.

I say post em' up, open box or whatever

Please do not post 50 open box deals here. If you want to pick out a few that are especially good deals that would be fine, but I don't want to see 50 threads of open box deals.

And yes, format them correctly, that should be obvious by now.
