This one right here is being called just that. Asrock is moving up lately. You may have something against them but they are becoming more and more respectable. Actually most people dont like budget boards but my last Asus board fried and i replaced it with a biostar. Because I never had a biostar go out yet. I build computers. UP to several a week. I quit using Asus unless someone just wants it. Two too many gone crazy after about 1 year. Then mine went out. This Asrock board is pretty solid I have bought 20 or more of them with no problem. Its not the best of course not. But It serves its purpose. And it does it very well. You dont have to take my word on it. Google the board. You will see its not bad at all. Not top of the line either. I picked it over the biostar AM3. But you have pros and cons of all budget hardware. Asrock is moving up. Dont be afraid!

I've never had to RMA or otherwise replace a Biostar board come to think of it. A few of my buddies built budget AM2 rigs with some biostar boards and they are still chuggin away.

PCI 2.0 4x would be like PCI 1.0 8x right ? And if I remember right that could run 8600GT (or HD2600XT) comfortably.
Why does everyone think a 90$ Tri-CFX board should compulsarily run 3 HD4890s that cost 660$ ? PS: anybody here know of borderless LCDs ? I mean ones which don't have a strip of plastic around the viewable area. If they are available, 4 of them 1080p screens can be put together to get a 2160p screen

triple crossfire/sli is just a plain waste. As far as graphics and games go it really just a gimmick. Trust me. If you crossfire three old gpus its just a waste of energy and if you crossfire 3 expensive boards all you have is bragging rights at best. Its a scam. Now if you just so happen to have 3 cards that you found or something you didnt waste money on then maybe its not such a bad thing to spend the extra electricity. But in the long run there is no real advantage. Triple crossfire, ha,ha, dont fall for it.
But now what if you crossfired 2 cards say 4850s or something then added a nvidia physics card in the extra slot say 9600gt. Now thats not bright but it might make some kinda use for all the pcie slots. Anyway that would be something unique, you think?

No thanks. 790FX is the only smart solution for triple CrossFire.

Actually you could even run the 8800gt with little loss at all. I was impressed as in most cases the fps was negligible from running an 8800gt on only the PCIe 1.1 & 8x lane. I did some research after one of my friends messed up his pcie slot doin somethin stupid. He still had the 8x lane and the motherboard let him use it. After he told me he didnt notice a drop i checked. This was a couple yrs back but it was surprising none the least

^^Then may I know WHAT is crappy about this board ?
Its not just the cheapest 3-way CFX board but also the cheapest 2-way CFX board for AM3 just for the reference. But everybody seems to have forgotten that.
