Thumbs up Canon EOS Rebel T1i Kit + Pixma Pro9000 Photo Printer for $856 AR+FS at Amazon

$450 printer with this camera makes it a pretty sweet deal. The T1i is Canon's newest camera. It is an intro level camera that has live view like punt and shoots but can also shoot 1080i and 720p HD movies!

Canon EOS Rebel T1i 15.1 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 3-Inch LCD and EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens
Or purchase just the body alone and printer for about $50 less.

Canon Pixma PRO9000MkII Inkjet Photo Printer

Make sure all items are purchased on the SAME receipt from AMAZON.COM for the rebate!!!!

Does that printer work for normal text documents too? And that is a huge rebate.. Don't know if I want to risk it.

I've been planning to buy that camera though.

I think the rebate is canon, so it must be pretty legitimate. The printer loopka like a pretty high end photo printer so I think you would be wasting ink printing home work, maps, and whatever on it.

Attachment: AmazonPro9000MkIIT1iDSLR400MIR30Sept09.pdf

Edit: Was on my phone earlier. The rebate is Canon/Amazon exclusive. You can track it here: http://www.acbpromotions.com/canonrebates/Default.asp

If you were planning on getting the camera, this just makes the deal even sweeter.

Well theoretically you could print text documents but it would be like buying a Kenworth tractor-trailer for short trips to the convenience store. I had one a while back and it's absolutely amazing for photo work. The only gripe I had was the replacement cost and lifespan of its eight ink tanks.

This is a REALLY good deal for someone wanting to start out with a DSLR and have good home printability.

Someone on Amazon said they bought an OEM generic ink continous ink system (look it up) and it worked great at pennies a page. I buy generic ink for my color printer and laser. I don't do any serious photo printing but everything looks great, works as well, and saves a bundle!
