do your tri-cools whine? i.e. motor noise.

I bought one tricool and one r4, trying to decide which to get for my case. The tricool whines (a little lower pitch than a whine) at anything over the lowest speed, and the r4 only whines at max speed. Right now I unplugged the tricool because I like the r4 better at the moment. For me its really hard to compare the airflow, but they seem pretty close.

Can anyone confirm this? (lol I know I have them sitting in front of me, but maybe I got an above average r4, and a really bad tricool) IMO the tricools light up much more and would look better in my case, but I really don't like motor noise.

to stock the whine i daisy chained 4 fans to essentially volts mod them without soldering. only 2 out of my 3 fans whine. guess its bad q/c on their part. im happy with my purchase(3 green r4's)

48...no way, sir.

I compare the R4s to my old Noctua P12s. They put out just as much cfm and are just as quiet. (imo) Yates are overrated, while they put out decent airflow they are just too loud for me and I equate the noise they produce to faulty design.
