Default [eCost.com] Anyone have experience with sketchy membership program?

Has anyone had any experience with this eCost.com Platinum membership hogwash before? I am very skeptical, the deals are good to be true.

There is a sexy refurb HDTV for $99. But it seems complicated and unclear if and when you have access to the items on special. They do not have the best reputation, but maybe the gamble would pay off. Anyone try this before?

Supposedly hot deals: http://www.ecost.com/HotSheetLanding...fd@HOTMAIL.COM

ecost had 24'' monitors for 140$? Everyone said not to buy one cause the ratings for the website were horrible
I did anyway, and received an unprotected BROKEN monitor in a box, and was trying to return it but it didnt work out cause they never sent me the info or something.

Eh, the deals are very limited, almost like Woot's BagOfCrap, but they do have good customer service, at least IMO.

NO! They do not have a good customer service. They are extremely rude. I've called them myself so I'm talking from personal experience. You should read up on the problems others have haid with this membership. I think one guy brought a really cheap refurb TV and then they informed him that it was out of stock and they would ship it out in 2 weeks. Well, a few days later the TV came back in stock, but only for those with the mebership again. So he calls again and they place it back on out of stock and tell him to wait another 2 weeks. Tricks like that are very common with Ecost.

BTW, Ecost doesn't really send out refurbs. Refurbs means the items have been fixed. They send the items out to you broken and because they did actually send you something it's really hard to get your money back. I'm sure it's not impossible to do. But it's not going to be easy.

Wow I got in on that "deal" and received a broken monitor too. After 4 months I was finally able to return it, but it took posting on reseller ratings and they are still charging me for a restocking fee. They are seriously the worst company I've ever dealt with. Avoid them at all costs.

If you've got money to spend and you're looking for a bargain, go for it.

If you're looking for a specific deal on an item that you want or you simply can't afford to have a dead piece of equipment laying around, don't bother.

Either way, avoid their tv's and monitors at all costs.
