Naming threads in the Online Deals forum (read this or your thread will be deleted)

This is just a reminder of this forum's guidelines (also stickied in this forum) about naming threads since very few threads are properly named.

• All threads must start with Deal: or Deals:
• The item or items must be identified.
• The price(s) must be identified except when linking larger sales (e.g. a sale ad at a vendor)
• If an item has free shipping, add shipped after the price. There is no need to add "plus shipping" as the absence of "shipped" indicates there is an additional shipping charge.
• If one or more rebates are necessary, after MIR must be included. If after MIR is not included, there's not a rebate. There's no need to say "no rebate".
• There is no need to add "plus tax" as members should be aware that tax is a possibility, depending on where they live. An exception would be in the UK where VAT is a large. Posting "including VAT" is appropriate in that and similar cases.
• The retailer must be identified.
• These items are all required. You may need to shorten your item description to fit them all. Make use of abbreviations such as PSU, GPU, HDD, etc. to your best advantage.

The format for the title must follow the following examples:

Deal: <item> for <price> <shipped, if applicable> <after MIR, if applicable> at <retailer>
or
Deals: <items> on sale at <retailer>

Examples:
Deal: OCZ DDR2-800 for $30 after MIR at Newegg
Deal: Intel E6600 for $200 shipped at Zipzoomfly
Deals: Water cooling kits on sale at SVC

Threads with improper titles WILL be deleted as fixing incorrect thread titles takes resources away from other things that need to be done on the site. These rules are clearly posted and all of the threads in the deals forum follow them, so there's really no excuse not to comply with them.

The reason for these naming conventions are very simple.

Deal: - Identifies the thread as belonging to the Online Deals forum, which avoids confusion with For Sale and other threads.
Item - Lets everyone know what item(s) have good deals going.
Price - It's tough to know if it's a good deal or not without knowing the price. Also, listing the currency can help to narrow down the country.
MIR - Some people do not like rebates at all, and it lets everyone know the initial price will be higher.
Retailer - This further helps to let people know if they have access to the deal (locale, country, etc.) and if it is a retailer they want to deal with.

Furthermore, spammers will never follow these conventions fully, so a proper thread title is sure to not be spam. These rules have been carefully thought out and are by no means arbitrary. Please take the extra couple of seconds to make sure your deal threads comply.

Bump. This is so easy to follow yet less than half of the threads in this forum fail to do so.

Bump. I just did a wholesale cleaning of all improperly named threads from the last week. About 80% of the threads posted when I was on vacation were not even close to complying with the simple naming conventions.

Another bump. Of the last 20 threads posted, 12 did not follow this format and were deleted. It can't be all that difficult to type Deal: <item> for <price> at <location> and state if there is a rebate.

Threads get deleted due to this every single day, and still people aren't catching on. Whenever anyone asks me why their threads get deleted, I always refer them to the sticky with "read this or your thread will be deleted" in the title.

Deal threads are still getting deleted every single day due to this. I'm not talking about titles that leave out the "for" before the price; I'm talking ones that leave out the retailer and other significant components. I'm not sure how to bring more attention to this other than possibly giving out infractions, which I think is overkill. I would have though a sticky with read this or your thread will be deleted in the title would be enough.

Any new threads with [Retailer] will be deleted
