Default How to get rid of windows.

i have two Windows XP Professionals when i boot up my computer, and it asks me to choose which one to boot. the problem is, one of those windows xp's doesnt even work. How do i get rid of this? I deleted the partition, there is only 1 partition on my drive right now.

Did you try to delete it using the XP disk?

I think you can edit boot.ini and just delete the not-working entry. It's in C:\ you have to enable viewing hidden files and system files.

You need to remove the defective entry from the MBR. I believe deleting it from the XP disc will help. Also, if you want to, use the now-free space to install Linux, and use GRUB (or LILO, I like GRUB) to manage the MBR. Windows always seems to manage to screw it up.

Go to startup and recovery under system properties in control panel, uncheck "time to display list of operating systems".

delete all partitions and refomat the hd and reinstall xp
