Default VISTA, XP, or BOTH?

I was wondering what the majority of the OCN members run on their daily setups.

If you have a fast enough system, I'd say Vista. I currently run XP because I don't have enough RAM to game well enough on Vista. I would run Vista with no less than 2GB of RAM and a current generation video card. If you've got the rig for it, go Vista...if not then use XP.

I use XP pretty much exclusively. I used to have Vista on one partition but I took it off. Right now I have no reason to use Vista and XP runs just great for me now.

yeah...i agree. Also the main reason i would dual boot is some software doesn't run on Vista yet? I know Vista is getting better with program compatibility but i'm not sure if i can trust it with everything XP can do =T

well i have a 400GB hdd... i was leaning on 300gb Vista and 100gb XP for my new setup because i use Vista currently on a laptop and it runs fine for the MOST part [except that annoying security window whenever you want to do something]. I planned on using XP as a backup if anything on Vista pissed me off.

any thoughts?

I had been dual-booting Vista and XP for a while but decided to make the jump to Vista now that the DX10 game launches are on the way. Aside from the 1003-point hit I took in 3DMark 06 (12354 --> 11351), I'm pretty content. XP does run well (as it should, being a 6-year-old operating system), but...

I voted vista . I was once exclusively using XP prior to Vista and in the early beta stages Vista was terrible, no driver worked at all, and software compatibility was crazy insane, but that is all a thing of the past, and I fully agree with the above statement that if your running a rig powerful enough go vista, especially if your a gamer and want your vista games to work without patching first. Remeber for ram you would need 2gb of ram for 32 bit versions and 4gb of ram for 64 bit versions

I toed the water with a dual boot, and then my XP crashed and I had no choice but to jump in.

I haven't gone crawling back to XP, begging for forgiveness ...

In fact, I just got a new HD and installed another run of Vista on it, so yeah I guess than means I'm a total convert now.

The hardest part about Vista was to be able to look past the fact that it LOOKED very different, but in the background everything was basically pretty much the same. A few more bells, etc... Too many LOUD graphics, IMO . . .

TweakUAC is a must-have. Turn that stupid UAC thing OFF !
