Default Affordable Sever 2003 or 2008?

I was just wondering if there is an affordable way to purchase Windows Server 2003 or 2008? I am a college student and I want to build a server to mess around with I was wondering that is a good site or place I would be able to purchase one of the OS from. I do also plan on playing with Linux Server but I want to also give windows a try also.

Windows Home Server $160

Windows Home Server 120-Day Trial

It's Windows 2003 with some corporate stuff missing but a lot of media stuff added. I've got it running on a computer at home for backups and stuff. It also allows me to remote in at any time to computers on the network at my house.

If you're a college student, check and see if your school is involved with MSDN Academic Alliance. You can get loads of software through them, including Server 2008, for absolutely nothing.

That would still be considered hacking I believe and against the ToS.

It's not really different from going into your windows folder and deleting notepad.exe...
