Exclamation This is really annoying (Updates)

Okay. Whenever I shut down my computer, it has to install "updates".
I don't really think it needs to install "updates" this often.
How do I turn this off?
It takes FOREVER to shut off the computer. D:

It's all the incremental SP3 updates...

To turn off the Auto updates, go to control panel -->Security Center -->Then click on automatic updates. You will find the correct options to turn it off there.

BTW that is for XP...

No because it is not supposed to update every single time that you turn off your computer.

So I should turn it off?
I really don't want to turn off IMPORTANT updates.
Just pointless microsoft updates.

For me it depended on how long my system was up. If I just powered it on to do a quick check, sometimes the auto update would only pickup one of the updates before I tried to shut it down.

For my gaming rig, I have the auto-update set to notify me _before_ downloading anything. I may even set it to off, so it does not try and fire up during gameplay. My main home work rig, is set to automagically download and install.
