Hi
__________________Was wondering what is the best way to protect your identity (I.P address) and what your are surfing on the internet, or is this not possible as your ISP will always have a record of the IP address they assigned you. Cheers

your isp owns you. remember that. SSL/Encryption may sorta protect *some* stuff, but I wouldnt trust that too much either. The internet is public domain, nothing is 'private' per se.

You can surf through a proxy, but that doesn't help much.
Try not to do anything illegal and you won't get looked at.

Yeah am thinking thats the best bet, but i wonder how much info is gathered about you from just normal websites, i.e. sports, news whatever.

Funny. I'm really curious on how much they look at you when you're doing things on the PC. What are the actual odds of being caught for torrenting a few movies?

You could use something called Tor, however it may greatly decrease loading, uploading, downloading times all together.
