That's not true for all adaptors. If you go to the manufacturer's website you can look for drivers for your adaptor and they may hav a x64 version. If not, they will list the drivers they do hav in x64 and the adaptors that they support.

You are probably thinking about xp 64-bit. It can be hard to find compatible wifi cards for it sometimes. This one works perfectly, however.

You can try this, strange thing is that adapter doesn't even come up on linksys's website. If you wanted it for vista idk if that would work or not, but i'm sure further googling will turn up something, if not plug it in and see if vista does all the work for you.

i believe its the wnb311 or something like that. after goin through 6 wireless cards this one worked flawlessly.

have to go to the website to obtain x64 drivers, unless they started puttin them on the disk.

Heh, heh, heh It's not that easy for XP64
It was never an official retail release- so many venders just outright skipped it.
Most adapters will work with Vista 64, however some still don't!
I ran into all sorts of issues with all three of my Netgear cards when I transitioned to XP64.
I remember it took me absolutely ages to find a single "universal" set of drivers that actually did work. (None of which were even remotely associated with Netgear)

But, I eventually did find a Gigabyte Atheros freebie utility that worked superbly, and hasn't failled me yet on the Netgears, (NP's on Microtik, Ubiquiti miniPCI transmit cards either)
works just fine for XP, Vista and W7 for 32 and 64 OS's

It's called Gigabyte Super Wireless Utility
and My version is V.4.2.0.374.05 and that version is buried sooo deep in the tubez- GL getting it out alive!
But, I did find GIGABYTE super wireless V.4.2.0.374.02 pretty easily (-helps to know what you're looking for )
Give that rev. a whirl! If no Joy PM me and I'll send ya over the .05 (9.~MB)
Cheers
GL
