You could always partition your drive using this or something like it. Keep your Vista and dual-boot with W7.
They'll be able to see each other and you won't have to format anything if W7 doesn't work out for you

Open beta is an open beta, just because Microsoft discontinued offering it does not mean you cannot acquire it by other means. The only problem is getting a license key, and they are still offering that for a bit longer.

Once you are registered, Microsoft is not going to ask where you got it, as they offered it free to anyone.

I update mine and still says version 7000, perhaps the later versions are only for "closed" beta and being tested by people with credentials. I still get regular updates on mine and running very well.

My Asus P6T Deluxe motherboard CD did not like my Windows 7 install, said could not detect the operating system when I tried to hit "setup".

I worked around this by going to each directory and installing the Vista 64 bit versions. Other than this it runs great with little issue for me. Love it and will be getting it at soon as it is released, think it has the potential to be the best overall Windows at release day.

don't forget, torrenting is legal, it's WHAT you torrent that could be the problem.

Please be aware, it is against better judgment as well as the OCN TOS to post links to or talk about piracy in such a way.

Lets edit some posts and such before we get out of hand.

Most of the posts arent about anything against the ToS. It is legal to download the file. Also, torrents arent illegal. So legal software and legal way to get it isnt illegal. The ToS really dont apply here other than links as far as I can see.

Yeah, torrenting is not illegal, the sites aren't illegal, and the software I am looking for isn't illegal either. Just like torrenting for an open source OS like Linux. You just have to be careful. The reason I don't like Pirate Bay is because they have soooo many infections and simply by searching I have had my Kaspersky IS come up and catch something like a trojan more than once... without even downloading!!!

Oh yeah, my Windows 7 has downloaded and I can't wait to make an ISO

Now I just have to figure out which distro of Linux I want to dual boot with.
