Default Same patterns in hesitation to upgrade?

I never really was totally computer smart till about 3-4 years ago, but was there as big as a problem back in the day when 98/2000 was out, then XP came, were a lot of people hesitant to upgrade like it was recently with XP to Vista?

I remember jumping on XP (with less issues than the Vista launch) because I was building a new rig.

And I really hated 2000, it was way buggy for me.

I remember grabbing my Pentium 4 2.66ghz Northwood, 9800Xt, & 2x512mb DDR 266 dual channel RAM in 2003 when Xp launched. I was a happy camper for quiet some time.

Most people are very hesitant to upgrade because they don't like change. Personally, I didn't upgrade to Windows XP until about 3 months after SP2 was released. I liked Windows 98 SE and used it on my old machine. When I built my Athlon XP rig, I finally installed Windows XP w/ SP1 but I never upgraded to SP2 until a program I wanted to run required SP2 to be installed. I did upgrade to Vista without hesitation though. I think with the amount of exposure that Windows 7 is getting, a lot of XP users will upgrade to it as well.

I jumped to Vista with my build. Never had a single problem except for finding a wireless adapter at the start. That was the companies fault, not MS's.

I usually don't buy a new OS unless I get a new computer.

Well lets see WindowsXP came out in late 2001 not 2003. I didn't make the switch till 2005 when a game I wanted to play didnt support Windows 98. I tried XP out in 2001 and got a bad taste in my mouth. Daily updates, constantly crashing, and always infected with something. Anyone that used Windows XP Gold knows what im talking about. So yea I was on Windows 98 from 1999-2005.

Yeah, around the time when XP first came out there were quite a few sceptics just as their were for Vista, but I still think XP took off quicker than Vista. (Windows ME and 2000 were crap IMO)

I quickly jumped on Windows XP ... I was going to quickly jump on Vista but people said it was too buggy so I didn't until a while afterward ... and I jumped to Windows 7 once the RC became available and I had time to install.

I like change as long as the change doesn't suck.

Oh yeah and I never upgraded to Vista SP1 until Adobe CS4 required me to do so to install it. I did upgrade to Vista SP2 a few weeks after it's release but only because I was in the middle of a format re-install and said what the hell.
